All vise parts are machined from bar stock, either stainless steel or brass. The brass is polished and coated to keep it from getting dull.
The major stainless is hardened.

Loosen the stainless steel thumb screw on the brass vise head to rotate to any position to inspect fly, tye wings-throats.
